COMIC CON 2018: ANDREW LINCOLN, NORMAN REEDUS AND DANAI GURIRA TEAM UP AT ‘THE WALKING DEAD’ PANEL!

It is always one of the most anticipated panels at Comic Com and this year, AMC’s The Walking Dead presentation drew large crowds as Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Lauren Cohan and the gang reunited in Hall H at San Diego Convention Center on July 20, 2018. It was a bittersweet affair as Lincoln prepares to go into his ninth and final season, exiting the show that made him a household name.

The nearly six minute trailer presented at the event, sets the stage for the upcoming season, kicking off some time after Negan was captured and the Saviors were vanquished. A graying Rick is giving peace a chance, with the group settling down in an expanded community they have built, with many new faces.

Negan is Rick’s prisoner, holed up in a cell, defiant and unrepentant as ever. As far as he is concerned, Rick’s pacifist outlook will blow up in his face.

Whether Negan’s pessimism will bear out, we will have to wait to find out. However, the first signs of trouble emerge as nerves fray and frustrations arise. There are growing tensions between Rick and Maggie, Daryl is not a happy camper and the newbies in the group are creating an issue. And the walkers are back.

‘THE WALKING DEAD’ SEASON 9 PREMIERES ON AMC, SUNDAY, OCT. 7, 9/8C.
