Kylie Jenner is just 20. Let me say that again…20. And at such a young age, the make-up mogul has landed on the cover of Forbes magazine, poised to become the youngest ever self-made billionaire.

Jenner, the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, first came into our living rooms as a pre-teen on the hit E! reality series, Keeping Up With The Kardashians. However, it was her older half-sister Kim who soaked up the spotlight, with sister Kendall also turning heads as one of the most sought after models in the world.

But Jenner hung back, making her way through middle school and high school. Admitting on the reality show to insecurities about her thin lips, Jenner first started using lip liners and lipstick to plump up her pout before getting fillers injected into her lips. Her millions of Instagram followers (110 million strong) and fans became fascinated with her make up, particularly how she applied her lipstick.

Hence the idea of the Kylie Lip Kits was born, a line of lipsticks and lip liners (now including eye shadows and concealers) that allow Jenner’s following to mimic her look.

“Social media is an amazing platform. I have such easy access to my fans and my customers,” says Jenner.

And those customers came in droves, with the company racking up over $630 million in sales to date – a company Jenner owns outright. Beauty is an over $500 billion dollar industry and Jenner is taking a nice slice of that pie, competing with established brands like L’Oreal and Estée Lauder.

Impressive, for a young lady who won’t turn 21 until August. Making money is not Jenner’s only priority, she is also a mother to daughter Stormi, who was born in February. It will be fascinating to see what Jenner takes on next, having accomplished more in her short life than many can dream of in a lifetime.
