JENNIFER GARNER TO STAR IN HBO COMEDY, ‘CAMPING’!

Jennifer Garner is coming to a small screen near you.

The Alias alum is set to star in Camping, an eight-episode HBO’s comedy being developed by Girls creators and producers, Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner.

Based on a British format, the series centers around Kathryn Siddell-Bauers (Garner), a super-organized and controlling wife whose life is knocked off its carefully crafted axis on a weekend camping trip meant to celebrate her husband’s 45th birthday. Roped into the trip are Kathryn’s timid sister, her ex-best friend, and a free-spirit. In addition to facing the elements, they must face each other, with relationships tested and courses changed.

In a joint statement Dunham and Konner said, “We love Jennifer’s restraint and comedic timing, and we can’t wait for the warmth and intelligence she’ll bring to our central character, Kathryn. It’s truly a dream to have her first on our call sheet. Now we just have to write her some stunts.”

Camping will mark Garner’s first TV series since Alias, which wrapped in 2006. It also marks Dunham’s first television project since ending a successful six-season run of her HBO comedy, Girls.

Garner can next be seen in the feature, Love Simon, and in the thriller, Peppermint, out later this year.
