Paltrow was just 22 when the incident happened. She was hired by Weinstein for the title role in the 1996 film, Emma. According to Paltrow, prior to filming, Weinstein asked her to meet him at his Peninsula Beverly Hills hotel suite for a meeting. Weinstein ended up putting his hands on her, suggesting they move to the bedroom for massages. Paltrow rebuffed the advances, relaying the incident to Brad Pitt whom she was dating at the time. Pitt later confronted Weinstein.

Angelina Jolie also opened up in the same piece about her encounter with Weinstein which occurred around the time Playing by Heart was coming out in the late 90s. According to Jolie, Weinstein made an unwanted advance towards her in a hotel room.

“I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth, and as a result, chose never to work with him again and warn others when they did,” Jolie said via email. “This behavior towards women in any field, any country is unacceptable.”

Accusations against Weinstein continue to flood out even after the one-time power player was forced out of The Weinstein Company on Sunday. Italian actress Asia Argento and Rosanna Arquette are among Weinstein’s latest accusers.
