JARED LETO SET TO PLAY PLAYBOY FOUNDER HUGH HEFNER IN BRETT RATNER BIOPIC!

First reported by THR, Jared Leto is set to play Playboy founder Hugh Hefner who passed away on Sept. 27 at 91.

The biopic will be directed by Brett Ratner, 48, who considers Leto an old pal and whom he believes can do the role of the complicated Hefner justice.

It has been a long road for Ratner to get the film project off the ground, initially getting the rights to Hefner’s life story in 2007. However, producer Jerry Weintraub purchased the rights when they expired and then Ratner got them back in 2015 following Weintraub’s death.

Leto was most recently seen in Suicide Squad, previously winning an Academy Award for his work in Dallas Buyers Club. The 45-year-old actor can next be seen in Blade Runner 2049.
