NAOMI WATTS’ NETFLIX SERIES ‘GYPSY’ CANCELLED AFTER ONE SEASON!

It’s over for Gypsy.

The Netflix series starring Naomi Watts has been cancelled after just one season. In what is a resurgent age of television, big stars have been flocking to the small screen to get in on the action. Watts close friend Nicole Kidman is currently riding high on the success of her foray into TV with the HBO limited series, Big Little Lies. But not all series are created equal and Gypsy suffered from low ratings from the outset, not helped by lackluster reviews.

Created by Lisa Rubin, Gypsy starred Watts as therapist Jean Holloway, stuck in a rut in her marriage, who starts to play a dangerous game with her patients, forming intimate and sexual relationships with those around them.

Watts was one of the executive producers on the show as well as Sam Taylor-Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey) who directed the opening episodes.

Gypsy follows a string of series cancellations from Netflix including Girlboss, The Get Down, Sense8 and Bloodline.

Naomi Watts can currently be seen on the Showtime revival of Twin Peaks and in The Glass Castle.
