LINKIN PARK FRONTMAN CHESTER BENNINGTON DEAD AT 41

The world of music was rocked by the sad news that Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington died in Los Angeles on Thursday, aged 41.

An emergency call came into law enforcement just after 9 a.m. from Bennington’s Palos Verdes residence, where the singer was confirmed dead from a suspected suicide which is being investigated by authorities.

Bennington was enjoying a career high with the successful release of Linkin Park’s top-charting seventh album, One More Light. That milestone, coupled with a planned tour, makes Bennington’s death that much more shocking.

“Shocked and heartbroken” is how Mike Shinoda described the band’s immeasurable sorrow in a tweet.

Bennington’s suicide follows that of Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell, who took his life in May. The two talented artists were friends, with Bennington performing at Cornell’s funeral.

Bennington’s untimely death is a bitter pill to swallow, a one-of-a-kind dynamic performer, gone too soon…
