‘THE PEOPLE V. O.J. SIMPSON,’ ‘MR. ROBOT,’ ‘BLACK-ISH’ BIG WINNERS AT 2016 TELEVISION CRITICS ASSOCIATION AWARDS!

The 32nd annual Television Critics Association Awards brought out Hollywood’s finest, gathering at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on a balmy Los Angeles night on August 6, 2016. Honored were the best shows on television from comedy to drama, led by Ryan Murphy’s smash anthology series, The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.

The limited FX series which enjoyed rave reviews throughout its run, snapped up awards for Outstanding Achievement in Movies, Miniseries and Specials, Program of the Year and Individual Achievement in Drama for Sarah Paulson, who slipped into the skin of prosecutor Marcia Clark in the standout series.

USA’s runaway hit hacker drama, Mr. Robot, led by the compulsively watchable Rami Malek, took home the award for Outstanding New Program. The show is currently in the middle of its second season.

Series creator Sam Esmail was cheered on by girlfriend and Shameless star Emmy Rossum as the show continues to garner critical recognition.

Outstanding Achievement in Drama honors went to FX’s Cold War-era series, The Americans, winning for a second year. In the comedy categories, ABC’s black-ish took home the win for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy, while Rachel Bloom was singled out for the Individual Achievement in Comedy award for her work on The CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
