Ahead of the premiere of her latest film, Money Monster at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, Julia Roberts will reportedly star in upcoming film, Wonder.
The Lionsgate film will be an adaptation of R.J. Palacio’s best selling novel centered about a young boy whose facial deformity makes fitting in at school a challenge. Playing that boy will be the talented and all-around adorable actor, Jacob Tremblay, whose star-making turn in Room, contributed to costar Brie Larson’s triumphant Oscar win.
Tremblay will play fifth grader Auggie Pullman, who will confront the challenges his facial deformity has brought into his young life as he navigates a new life as a fifth grader in a main stream school. Roberts plays Tremblay’s mother in the film.
From a script penned by Steve Conrad and Jack Thorne, Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) will direct the drama.
